OSHC stands for Outside School Hours Care. It provides child care services before and after school, as well as during school holidays. It aims to offer a safe, supervised, and engaging environment for school-aged children.
Our centre operates from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM for before-school care and from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM for after-school care on school days. During school holidays, we are open from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
To enrol your child, please visit our Enrol here page or contact our office directly. We will provide you with an enrollment form and details about required documentation. You’ll need to complete and submit the form along with any necessary identification and health records.
We have a very popular After School and Vacation Care program, and days do sometimes book out. In order to manage this in an equitable way, the centre has a waitlist for any sessions that are booked out. If you find yourself unable to book a day, please contact [email protected] to be added to the waitlist. You will receive an email when a space becomes available.
Fees vary based on the time of day and the type of care required. We offer flexible payment options and may also have subsidies available through the Child Care Subsidy (CCS).
Fees (not including CCS)
The out of pocket cost of care to parents will vary depending on the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) and activity hours a parent is entitled to.
6. Is there financial assistance available?
Yes, families may be eligible for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) through the Australian Government. This subsidy helps with the cost of child care and is based on your family’s income and the number of hours of care required.
7. What is the staff-to-child ratio?
We maintain a high staff-to-child ratio to ensure that each child receives adequate supervision and care. The legal ratio is 1:15, but we aim to always roster above ratio to ensure that we provide quality care for your child. The ratio complies with NSW regulations, and our staff are trained and qualified in child care and first aid.

Our activities are designed to be engaging and developmentally appropriate for all age groups. 10. What should my child bring to the centre?
Food and Water
Please ensure that your child has a water bottle, with your child/s name clearly labelled with their name. Especially during the summer months, hydration is important for everyone. The service can provide water and cups, but a drink bottle gives your child a sense of agency and is a great start to school readiness. If your child has any allergens, dietary requirements or restrictions, this can be communicated in your child’s enrollment form under “Medical Management”, please include this in the “additional information” textbox. This can also be communicated to the Service via email. We will aim to cater to your child to the best of our ability, but if you have any concerns, please reach out and/or provide your child with extra food in their lunchbox to be consumed during Afternoon Tea.
Clothing
NOTE: Although children are dressed in their school uniforms during Before and After School Care, they are free to wear casual dress during Vacation Care.
It is helpful to your child if they are dressed in non-restrictive, serviceable and easy to wash clothes so that they feel free to join in all the activities and to develop independence. Shoes also need to allow children freedom to run, climb, jump and hop. Unsuitable shoes are thongs and gumboots and we prefer that these be NOT worn to the Service. Lace up joggers or sandals are appropriate. Also, please consider clothing that enables the child to move around easily and allows children to be independent in dressing. Clothing such as long dresses, overalls, braces, belts and stiff buttons can prove a problem for children who need to go to the toilet. We require all t-shirts to have sleeves (no mid-drift tops) and hats that are broad brimmed are essential for effective sun safety.
Spare Clothes: Every now and then accidents occur and it may be necessary for your child to get changed into a fresh set. Please include a complete change of clothes every day which can stay in your child’s bag…just in case! The Service does have some spare clothes in case of emergencies, but to ensure that your child remains comfortable, we suggest having their own spare clothes to change into.
11. What should my child NOT bring to the centre?
Please do not bring any personal belongings/toys that are precious. KPSOOSH does not take responsibility for lost personal items. Pokemon cards are also banned at KPSOOSH due to unfair play and trading.
12. How do I update my contact information or Emergency Contacts?
Please notify us immediately if you need to update your contact information or emergency contacts. You can do this by contacting our office directly or updating your details through our online parent portal.
13. What happens if my child is sick?
If your child is sick, please keep them at home and inform us as soon as possible.
14. How do I provide feedback or make a complaint?
We welcome feedback and are committed to addressing any concerns. You can provide feedback or file a complaint by contacting our centre director directly ([email protected]). We take all concerns seriously and aim to resolve them promptly.
15. Are meals provided at the centre?
We provide breakfast (7.30-8.30am), afternoon tea (3.00pm) and late snack (5.15pm) both during term time and school holidays, but children will need to bring their own lunch if they are staying for the full day during school holidays. We also accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies, so please inform us of any specific needs.
16. What measures do you have in place for managing allergies and medical conditions?
We have clear procedures for managing allergies and medical conditions, including keeping up-to-date records and training our staff. Parents must provide detailed information about their child’s medical needs and any required medication.
